I made Mary Berry’s Can’t Go Wrong Chocolate Cake from her book, Fast Cakes and boy did it not go wrong, it was really easy to make and absolutely delicious, light and fluffy, gorgeous icing (and normally my icing is so dodgy) and not too chocolate-y (K doesn’t like overly chocolate-y cakes, S only likes chocolate cake or fruit cake and Z was the birthday boy, so whatever he requested would have been the cake of choice anyway but luckily he likes chocolate cake too and that’s what he requested, Z actually likes all cakes unless they’ve obviously got nuts in, he will eat cakes with nuts in if they’re not obvious – he’s not allergic or anything btw). I haven’t baked in ages and I need to bake more, specifically from this book.
